Hello and welcome! My name is Jan Becker and I am running to be Cobb County’s next Tax Commissioner. I am a lifelong Democrat with 12 years of experience working in the Cobb County Tax Commissioner’s office.
My Educational Background
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and am a 2017 Graduate of the Excel Management Program through the University of Georgia.
My Work History
I started working at the Tax Commissioner’s office in 2009, serving as the Bankruptcy and Mobile Home Manager, and later promoted to Levy Manager. In 2018 I was promoted to Director of Motor Vehicles. I also served as the Project Liaison for the Renovation of 5 different Tax Commissioner offices.
My Personal Mission
I took an early retirement back in January 2021, but I’ve decided to set aside my County and State Retirement Benefits in order to use my experience and qualifications to serve the tax payers of Cobb County.
